A wonderful morning visit to beautiful Kfar Vradim in the Upper Galilee

[Masorti Foundation for Conservative Judaism in Israel‘s post, January 30]

First visit of the day to Kfar Vradim and the amazing Rabbi Natalie Lastreger and Mayor Sivan Yehieli. This kehillah is a great example of Masorti building bridges across Israeli society.

Just a few examples.

The Rabbi comes from an Orthodox family and the Mayor is from the leftist Hashomer Hatzair. They are great partners building the community.

Both orthodox and Masorti work together in the Khevra Kedisha burial society, breaking the orthodox monopoly in the country.

The congregation celebrates a Sukkat Shalom festival with non-Jewish neighbors to, as Rabbi says, to bring “a little piece of peace.”

Rabba Lastreger will be in the U.S.in a few months so the Masorti Foundation will try to create opportunities for people to meet her. You will be impressed and inspired.
